TERT-BUTYLCATECHOL SOLID is a yellow, flaky solid with a characteristic odor. It functions as an antioxidant, inhibitor, and stabilizer, and is an organic compound derived from catechol. It is used to stabilize and inhibit the polymerization of reactive monomers such as butadiene, styrene, and vinyl acetate, demonstrating 25 times greater effectiveness as an inhibitor compared to hydroquinone. Additionally, it stabilizes polyurethane foams and acts as an antioxidant for rubber, polymers, and oil derivatives.
