PVP/VA S-630

Members of the PVP/VA copolymer series are widely used film formers and hair fixatives in a variety of hair styling products. The properties (stiffness, film flexibility, humidity resistance, etc.) depend on the VP/VA ratio. Increasing the VA content results in an increase in hydrophobicity and, consequently, a decrease in hygroscopicity and water solubility compared to the VP homopolymer. The PVP/VA polymers offer increased adhesion, better flexibility and humidity resistance than then PVP. They are soluble in water and alcohol. PVP/VA S-630 has a 60/40 VP/VA ratio, and it is sold as a water soluble powder. It is suitable for alcohol-free styling formulations.
