IMCD has appointed Uwe Schmelzer as Managing Director of IMCD Switzerland, effective January 1, 2025.
In his new role, Uwe Schmelzer will lead IMCD’s strategic growth initiatives in Switzerland, focusing on expanding our business, driving commercial and operational excellence, and delivering exceptional value to our principals and customers. He will also oversee mergers and acquisitions, advance digitalization efforts, and foster talent development. He is committed to strengthening trust-based relationships with business partners and customers to enhance IMCD’s position and reputation in the market.
Uwe Schmelzer has nearly 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development, in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. He began his career in 1995 in Switzerland. He worked with companies such as Siegfried Chemie, Swiss Caps, or Catalent Pharma Solutions as Director of Business Development for Pharmaceutical Softgel Europe. In 2015, he joined Dolder AG as Business Unit Manager, playing a crucial role in the merger that formed DCS Pharma AG. Uwe Schmelzer served as Director of Sales & Marketing and later as Chief Commercial Officer at DCS Pharma AG, supporting the company’s acquisition and subsequent integration by IMCD Group. Uwe is Commercial Director at IMCD Switzerland since 2021.
